| 1. Push down on the manual shut-off knob and turn the wick adjustment knob COUNTERCLOCKWISE in the direction of "OFF." |
2. Use screwdriver to loosen and remove the 3 screws that fix the cabinet base to the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank cap. |
3. Use the carrying handle to lift the cabinet & grill assembly straight up and away from the heater. |

| 4. Remove the screw on the wind cover and remove the wind cover. |
5. Take the screw out of the battery case and then remove the battery case from its poition. Unscrew and remove the 4 wing nuts. |
6. Lift the wick adjuster assembly straight up and away from the heater. |

| 7. Lift the wick holder assembly straight up and remove from the fuel tank. |
8. Remove the wick from the holder by folding it toward the center loosening it from the sharp metal teeth on the inner surface of the holder and slide it out. |
9. The black line on the outside of the wick should match the top edge of the holder. |

| 10. Then press the wick against the teeth inside the holder to obtain a firm grip. |
11. Replace the wick holder assembly in the burner tank. Rotate 90 degrees left and right as well as up and down until the wick slides freely. Check to see that the gasket is still in place on the burner tank. |
12. Insert the pinion at the other end of the wick control shaft into the top portion of the rack of the wick holder. This step can easily be carried out if the wick holder is raised. |

| 13. Slide the wick adjuster assembly down the draft tube. Position the adjuster shaft to the front of the heater. |
14. Snug the 4 wing nuts on the mounting stud, but do not tighten. Replace the battery case. Raise the wick to the full "up" position, and evenly tighten the wing nuts in several steps. |
15. Check the wick height. It should be 5/16" above the collar. Check for correct clearance between wick holder and draft tube. It should be the same all the way around. |

| 16. Check the function of the safety shut-off mechanism by pushing the extinguish button to upset the pendulum. |
17. Reinstall the wind cover. |
18. Replace the cabinet and grill assembly and fasten to the heater with 3 screws. Be sure to check that the wick is set at the correct height of 5/16th" after reassembling the heater. |
